Science and Agriculture honours its academically top-performing students

In recognition of its academically top-performing students, the Faculty of Science and Agriculture recently held an Excellence Awards ceremony to honour some its brilliant students.

The event marked the return of the annual academic achievement awards function, which in the previous years recognized the academic achievements of students who have excelled in their academic endeavors.

In his welcoming address, the Dean of the Faculty, Prof Graeme Bradley attributed the stellar performance of these students to the commitment shown by the HOD’s, Lecturers and colleagues within the Faculty.

Prof Renuka Vithal, Deputy Vice-Chancellor: Teaching and Learning, reminded the students of their purpose at a University. “You are the reason universities exist so that you become the next generation of knowledge producers, industry leaders that will shape the constantly moving world. I am happy that the Faculty hosted these awards.”

“I am also pleased that we are celebrating undergraduate as well as postgraduate students,” she said.
