The University of Fort Hare’s Faculty of Law recently held a Marketing Day where they hosted close to 200 Matriculants from in and around Buffalo City Metro who have set their future career goals on becoming legal eagles.

The purpose of the event was to share vital information, such as the programmes the faculty offers, funding opportunities and career prospects after graduating.

The learners also had the privilege of hearing from practicing legal practitioners from the Bhisho Bar of Advocates, the South African Law Society and the Office of the State Attorney. They also listened to first-hand testimonials by former students who are currently flourishing in the industry. Their visit ended with a tour of the East London Campus.

The Dean of the Faculty, Prof Mzukisi Njotini said the objective is to diversify the student intake of the faculty. “We want to attract students from diverse backgrounds who hold different views and share a common goal, to become excellent legal practitioners.”

At the end of the session, Sandise Ngcwembe from Buffalo City Metro Inner-City High School was even more adamant to study Law and the University of Fort Hare. “This was a very informative event and I am now even more convinced that Law is the career path I want to take and Fort Hare is the institution to start the journey.”
