Justice Mbuyiseli Madlanga visits UFH
The Nelson R. Mandela School of Law is hosting Justice Mbuyiseli Madlanga who is a Judge of the Constitutional Court of South Africa. He will give several lectures within the East London campus to our law students and stakeholders from 9th-12th of October 2018. In this period, he will share his invaluable experience with the students at the University. Justice Madlanga has delivered several notable judgements and his visit to the University is both timely and relevant at this particular point in the society’s democratic journey. His presence here will go further in attempting to unfold some of the relevant decided cases within our courts which are being read and unpacked by the law students and lecturers alike. Justice Mbuyiseli Madlanga will endeavour to impart and unpack both his local and international experiences to the students through his interaction with them in the lecture sessions.
The Nelson R. Mandela School of Law believes that Justice Mbuyiseli Madlanga’s visit will be fruitful and relevant in assisting law students to develop a better grasp of the legal issues and contours that are impacting the society in a most profound manner, especially given the multiplicity of socio-legal issues that have been brought before the constitutional court in recent times.
As the Dean of the Nelson Mandela School of Law, along with the rest of my team, we deem the presence of the Justice amongst us as a quintessential moment, and highly rewarding, as we seek to reposition the faculty and to make it one of the first choice among the Higher learning institutions for potential law students and researchers. Again we are profoundly grateful to the justice and it is our desire that this is just one of many visits to come.
