The dominance of Fort Hare University choirs at the South African Tertiary Institutions Choral Association (SATICA) is far from over as the two choirs representing East London and Alice campus sang their lungs out bringing home top awards at a competition hosted by Tshwane University of Technology in June. This continued dominance and victory also saw ten students from the East London choir awarded bursaries for five years by the Mayor of Tswane as he indicated that he will give ten full bursaries to each choir that showed dominance in a category. Twenty institutions of higher learning participated in the competition that witnessed East London campus crowned kings of the platinum category whilst Alice campus were overall winners or Champ of champs for the fourth time in a row.

Fort Hare Choir executive committee would love to pass the word of gratitude to the Fort Hare community for their support, especially the student affairs for supporting the choir with everything they needed in order to make it happen.

Both Alice and East London executive committee would love to also pass the word of gratitude to the SRC that was there at Pretoria with both choirs to ensure the smooth running of the competition.
