Bachelor of Health in Human Movement Science - BHM in HMS
Human Movement Science is the study of the human body during movement and focusses fundamentally on physical activity and related aspects. Human Movement provides the basis for sport participation and physical activity for health and wellness. Modules in this degree include anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, sport management, biomechanics, motor learning, introduction to research methods, sport nutrition and injuries, clinical exercise physiology, sport psychology and sport and exercise physiology. The program will allow students to enter national industries and corporate environments that focus on physical activity for health and wellness, sport coaching and sport management
Admission
- a university entrance certificate equivalent to NQF level 4 with a 28/29 APS score
- be proficient in English, having passed English with a D+ (level 4: 50-59%)
- passed mathematics with a D+ (level 4: 50-59%) or mathematic literacy with a B+ (level 5: 60-69%)
- passed Life Orientation with a D+ (level 4: 50-59%)
- passed 4 other subjects from the designated list with a D+ (level 4: 50-59%)
- Matured applicants (23yrs+) need to have an appropriate professional or science qualification
The curriculum is a structured curriculum and all modules in the curriculum have to be passed to obtain the qualification. The degree program shall extend over a minimum period of three years of full- time study. Please refer to the University of Fort Hare General prospectus for further information.
