Dr Siphe Potelwa graduated a Doctorate of Philosophy: Education (PhD) at the University of Fort Hare with thesis titled: “Visual art education narratives in context: Contribution by offender in one correctional service in the Eastern Cape”. He obtained the following qualification: Masters in Visual Arts from University of South Africa, B-Tech Degree in Fine Arts, and National Diploma in Fine Arts both from Walter Sisulu University. National Higher Certificates: Policing certificate from Bisho SAPS College, Human Resource (Skills Development Facilitator) from Academy of York College, Strategic Management from University of South Africa, and Events: Project Management at former Border Technikon currently called University of Walter Sisulu.
His teaching and research areas include: Project Management Induction in Exhibition, Art anatomy, Protocols of Forensic Identification, Art education and Image analysis
