Prof P Tanga

Professor Tanga holds a PhD from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, Master of Social Work (University of Ibadan, Nigeria) and BSc in Social Work and Community Development (University of Nigeria, Nsukka), Master of Arts in Human Rights Law and PGDHET (University of Fort Hare) and Diploma in Social Work (ENAAS, Yaounde, Cameroon). He has taught at the University of Buea, Cameroon, University of KwaZulu-Natal and National University of Lesotho. He is currently a full professor of Social Work at the University of Fort Hare, South Africa.  He serves as external examiner for undergraduate and postgraduate courses and dissertations/theses for many universities in South Africa and abroad. He is a reviewer for many international and local journals. Professor Tanga has held positions of responsibility including Social Work Programme Coordinator, Head of Department and member of Faculty and University Committees. He is involved in collaborative research initiatives with colleagues within the University and externally. Professor Tanga is an NRF rated researcher and also serves as Deputy Dean for Research and Internationalisation.
