Mrs Patela Giyose

Patela Giyose (M Cur in Community Health Nursing) joined the University of Fort Hare as a Clinical Facilitator in 2014, teaching undergraduate fourth year nursing students Nursing Management and Professional practice and Community Health Nursing. She is a member of the; Teaching and learning and Community engagement committees within the faculty. Prior to this, she worked at five municipal clinics as a community health nurse and supervisor of some of the clinics. She has also worked for Health Systems Trust as a TB coordinator in the TASK 11 TB project, supporting the Eastern Cape Government with monitoring and evaluation of their TB program. She was involved in operations research. As a TB coordinator she worked with researchers, in a wide range of skills.  She attended a one- week simulation laboratory training at the University of Free State in June 2016.   In 2017-2018 she enrolled in the SAFRI fellowship programme where she received a certificate. She attended SAAHE conference in 2019 where she presented a poster. She is an executive member of SAAHE and is registered with the South African Nursing Council
