UFH reaches a 100 mark of a number of Phd graduates for 2017

The University of Fort Hare has broken into a 100th mark of a total number of PhD’s for 2017 right when the institution is on its 101 years of existence. 33 PhD’s were conferred on the 15th September at its main campus in Alice to add to the 77 that was conferred in May of the same year. The spring graduation will also saw 33 graduating with masters and 236 first timers. The university also awarded an honorary doctor of philosophy to a reggae music legend, Rita Marley and wife to the music icon, Bob Marley. Honorary degrees are given to men and women nationally and internationally for the role they have played in societal development be it in politics or music and culture.
