TEACHING AND LEARNING CENTRE

TLC CONSULTANT: TECHNOLGY-ENHANCED LEARNING (TEL) AND TEACHING AND LEARNING DEVELOPMENT

EAST LONDON CAMPUS – REF NO: 2840

R 435 051 – R 540 620 P.A. (ALL-INCLUSIVE PACKAGE)


 

MAIN PURPOSEThe successful individual will develop and support Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) activities as well as facilitate Teaching and Learning Development activities.


 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Facilitate, develop, integrate and implement appropriate technologies for teaching and learning.
  • Facilitate, develop, train and implement teaching and learning development activities environment
  • Promote the use of ICT’s and teaching & learning development among staff and students.
  • Facilitating the provision of departmental requests for special ICT tools capacitation as well as in teaching and learning development programme.
  • Supporting the developing staff and students in integrating technology through the seminars, workshops and one on one consultations:
  • Promote, develop, support and staff and students in the use of Blackboard.
  • Support the integration and review of relevant Technology enhanced Learning elements into Teaching and Learning policies
  • Keeping abreast of new technological developments and new government initiatives in ICT.
  • Identifying appropriate opportunities across the curriculum where ICT/TEL can enrich teaching and learning.
  • The incumbent will be expected to work across the TLC pivots 

 

Requirements: 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • A Master’s degree in Education or other qualification relevant to the post
  • Three (3) years’ experience in teaching and/or supporting learning in higher education
  • Training and experience in TEL and Teaching and Learning Development with strong interest in staff development and student development.
  • Evidence of professional development in the various areas of teaching and learning in higher education
  • Excellent facilitation, communication and inter-personal skills
  • Well-developed organisational, supervisory and administrative skills
  • Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams across campuses
  • Good research and report writing skills
  • A high level of proficiency in MS Programmes. Knowledge, VLE administration, Web 2.0 technologies
