TEACHING AND LEARNING CONSULTANTTECHNOLGY-ENHANCED LEARNING (TeL)

ALICE CAMPUS – REF No: 698

R 435 051 – R 646 188 (All-Inclusive Package)

The successful individual will develop, monitor and supervise Technology-enhanced Learning activities and resources, and also train and monitor student facilitators in peer facilitation programmes. 

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Facilitate, develop, integrate and implement appropriate technologies for teaching and learning.
  • Facilitate, develop, integrate and implement appropriate peer facilitation programmes for the teaching and learning environment
  • Promote the use of ICT’s and SI among staff and students.
  • Facilitating the provision of departmental requests for special ICT tools capacitation as well as the SI programme.
  • Supporting and developing staff and students in integrating technology through the seminars, workshops and one on one consultations:
  • Promote, develop, support and staff and students in the use of  Blackboard.
  • Support the integration and review of relevant Technology enhanced Learning elements into Teaching and Learning policies
  • Keeping abreast of new technological developments and new government initiatives in ICT.
  • Identifying appropriate opportunities across the curriculum where ICT/TEL can enrich teaching and learning.
  • The incumbent will be expected to work across the TLC pivots

 

Requirements: 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A Master’s degree in Education or other qualification relevant to the post
  • Three (3) years’ experience in teaching and/or supporting learning in higher education
  • Training and experience in Technology enhanced Learning and strong interest in student development specifically the Supplementary Instruction (SI) Programme and Model.
  • Evidence of professional development in the various areas of teaching and learning in higher education
  • Excellent facilitation, communication and inter-personal skills
  • Well-developed organisational, supervisory and administrative skills
  • Good research and report writing skills
  • A high level of proficiency in MS Programmes. Knowledge, VLE administration, Web 2.0 technologies
