RESEARCH PROFESSOR : ANY COMMERCE DISCIPLINE

ALICE, BISHO AND EAST LONDON CAMPUS - REF NO. 8092

R 773 720 – R 964 150 PA (All-inclusive package)

 

Faculty of Management and Commerce is a vibrant centre of learning, research and innovation striving to build an entrepreneurial, sustainable and caring social and economic system within an African context. The faculty offers programmes in three campuses, that is, Alice, Bhisho and East London.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Publish in DHET accredited journals
  • Promote research links and engagement within the Faculty, across the University and with external organisations.
  • Supervision of postgraduate students;
  • Engage in research – from writing funding applications to dissemination though producing peer-reviewed accredited publications and other distribution of your research findings.
  • Develop quality international partnerships
  • Performing required administrative tasks linked to the research program, eg report writing and proposal writing;
  • Encourage academics to engage in multi-disciplinary research within the Faculty and, more broadly, across the University and externally with other organisations.
  • Participate in departmental administrative duties, and in strategic planning
  • Involvement in community interaction projects.
  • Engage in activities and events in the faculty and university, and / or academic association(s).

 

 

 

Requirements: 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • PhD in a Commerce field
  • Eight and more years of university teaching experience and research.
  • leader in innovative undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and scientific research;
  • Sustained accredited research publications and other research outputs of high quality, over several years;
  • Leader of an active and productive research group;
  • Proven record in supervision of PhD students;
  • Proven track record in attracting external funding;
  • NRF rating or equivalent;
