UNIVERSITY CAPACITY DEVELOPMENT GRANT

PROJECT COORDINATOR: UNIVERSITY CAPACITY DEVELOPMENT GRANT (2X POSTS)

SALARY: R 250 000 – R 300 000 p.a. (All-inclusive package)

 


The university seeks to appoint TWO Project Coordinators to coordinate and administer the implementation of the University Capacity Development Grant (Teaching and Learning & Research development) for a fixed term period of up to 3 years. The incumbent will report to the Project Manager: UCDG:

      • 1x POST: Teaching and Learning Development Coordinator - East London Campus
      • 1x POST: Research Development Coordinator - Alice Campus

(Visibility on both campuses)

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Ensure that existing funder agreements are efficiently managed and administered according to funder/donor requirements and university policies and procedure
  • Process grants for release within the funders financial rules and policies
  • Create and manage unit documentation for audit purposes`
  • Undertake and process grant reconciliations
  • Monitor grant expenditure across programmes
  • Collate data for reporting
  • Compile monthly reports on grant expenditure
  • Project management, particularly monitoring of activities in line with project budgets
  • Compile a portfolio of evidence to accompany the annual qualitative and financial report
  • Liaise with institutional and faculty representatives about effective implementation of the UCDG plan
  • Provide institutional workshops/support on the grant implementation and reporting

 

 

Requirements: 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • A Bachelors Degree
  • Experience in project management
  • Computer Proficiency: Microsoft Office and knowledge of the Monitoring & Evaluation systems
  • Experience in working in the Teaching and Learning Centre/Research Development Centre will be an added advantage
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent quality writing and editing skills
  • Project management skills
