FACULTY OF SCIENCE AND AGRICULTURE

DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURAL ECONOMICS AND EXTENSION

PROFESSOR: AGRICULTURAL ECONOMICS

ALICE CAMPUS - REF NO: 1406

R 824 012 – R 1 026 820 p.a. (All-inclusive package)


 

Applications are invited from qualified and experienced candidates for the above-mentioned permanent position in the Faculty of Science and Agriculture

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Teach Agricultural Economics modules at both undergraduate and Honours levels
  • Supervise postgraduate students’ research
  • Participate in normal administrative duties necessary for the smooth running of the department
  • Generate research funds for the university
  • Conduct own research

 

Requirements: 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • A PhD in Agricultural Economics
  • At least eight years’ experience in university teaching;
  • Extensive research experience
  • Extensive publication record in journals and peer reviewed papers
  • Extensive postgraduate supervision experience at Master’s and PhD level.
  • Ability to provide academic leadership.
  • A demonstrated ability to attract research funding

Included in the above remuneration is the company contribution to our compulsory pension fund, medical aid contributions, life cover and an optional annual bonus.
