FACULTY OF SCIENCE AND AGRICULTURE

FOREMAN: CROP SECTION

ALICE CAMPUS - REF NO: 1602

SALARY: R 244 311 – R 302 194per annum (All-inclusive package)

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Supervise the activities on the crop section.
  • Supervise use of tractors and implements used by staff
  • Report any malfunction or fault to the Farm Manager
  • Ensure that the implements are cleaned after a job has been completed
  • Assist lectures and researchers with student training and research projects.
  • Report farm improvements, and facilities that require maintenance to the farm manager
  • To perform any other task, the job requires.

 

Requirements: 

REQUIREMENTS AND COMPETENCIES: 

  • Post Matric qualification in crop science/agriculture.
  • 5 years’ relevant experience
  • Good Knowledge of protocol in dealing with academic, students and researchers.
  • A qualification in farm management will be a recommendation

 NB: The incumbent will be required to be on weekend duty every second weekend and certain public holiday

  •  He/she will also need to work after hours on occasions.
