FACULTY OF SCIENCE AND AGRICULTURE

SENIOR LECTURER/LECTURER: DEPARTMENT OF APPLIED AND PURE MATHEMATICS

(RE-ADVERTISEMENT)

ALICE CAMPUS - REF NO.: 8200

Senior Lecturer: R 537 636 – R 668 851 per annum (All-inclusive package)

Lecturer: R 435 051 – R 540 620 per annum (All-inclusive package)


 

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Lecture in Numerical Analysis, Mathematical Modelling and any relevant course allocated to by the Head of Department, from undergraduate to postgraduate levels;
  • Seek research funding, and conduct own research;
  • Initiate and supervise postgraduate students’ research and training in the department and contribute to capacity building;
  • Participate in administrative duties.

 

 

Requirements: 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • A PhD/Masters in Mathematical Sciences;
  • A minimum of three years’ experience in teaching at university level;
  • Research experience backed by publications in recognized academic journals;
  • A proven track record in terms of the ability to initiate, lead and conduct relevant research including participation in collaborative research programmes;
  • Proven experience in Mathematical Modelling and MATLAB programming an added advantage.
