DIRECTOR: LANGUAGE CENTRE

ALICE CAMPUS - REF NO.: 8087

R 824 012 – R 1 026 820 per annum (All-inclusive package)

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

  • Language planning
  • Management and implementation of UFH Language Policy
  • Establish effective translation and interpretation services
  • Fundraising
  • Budget planning and financial management
  • Advancement of multilingualism through research, teaching and community engagement

 

 

Requirements: 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Doctoral degree in Applied Language Studies / African languages / Language Practice / Applied Linguistics
  • Experience in the field of Language Policy and Language Policy Implementation at tertiary level
  • 3 years’ experience in management of a Language Centre
  • A research track record evidenced in research publications, specifically in language policy and related fields.
  • A clear understanding of the multilingual language issues pertaining to South African environment.
  • Language proficiency in at least two of the three official languages of the University (English, isiXhosa and Afrikaans)
