TEACHING AND LEARNING CENTRE

 CONSULTANT : TEACHING AND LEARNING CENTRE (Grade 8)

 ALICE CAMPUS - REF NO:. 2845


 

The successful individual is to drive Technology enhanced Learning (TeL) innovations in the curriculum. This will be achieved through development and monitoring of TeL activities and resources; training of students and staff on the integration of various technologies into teaching and learning; and attending to queries as well as calls for support by both staff and students


 DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Design and implement TeL resources and activities
  • Train academics and students in the use of TeL technologies
  • Advise academics and students on responsible, judicious and strategic use of TeL for the enhancement of learning
  • Attend to queries and calls for support by both academics and students
  • Liaise with academics and other role players such as ICT
  • Conduct research and evaluate the impact of TeL into teaching and learning
  • Market TLC services and activities in the various technology platforms
  • Maintain the TLC website through periodic updates
  • Teach Web-based Learning module at postgraduate diploma level

 

Requirements: 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • A Masters degree, preferably in Education, or any other qualification relevant to the post
  • Training and experience in the use of a Learning Management System, and/or any other Technology enhanced Learning tool
  • Three (3) years’ experience in teaching and/or supporting learning in higher education
  • Training and experience in the SI Model and/or any other Peer Assisted Learning programme
  • Evidence of professional development in the various areas of teaching and learning in higher education
  • Excellent facilitation, communication and inter-personal skills
  • Well-developed organisational, supervisory and administrative skills
  • Good research and report writing skills
  • A high level of proficiency in MS Programmes. Knowledge, VLE administration, Web 2.0 technologies
