TEACHING & LEARNING AND THE RESEARCH UNIT

EAST LONDON CAMPUS

2 YEAR CONTRACT

SALARY: R 120 000 (All-inclusive package)


 University Capacity Development Grant (UCDG) invites suitably qualified applications for the position of Administrator. The main purpose of this position is to provide high-level professional administration support to the Project Manager: UCDG and New Generation (nGap) units.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Organise logistics for conferences, seminars, workshops, colloquia;
  • Ability to handle project documentation;
  • Assist in the preparation of project reports;
  • Communication with academics, staff and administration;
  • Meeting administration (i.e.,drafting agenda, taking accurate minutes, organisations of venue, catering and transport);
  • Record-keeping, filing and maintenance of data bases;
  • Public relations, media liaison and website/social media maintenance;
  • Liaison with Faculty and other internal and external stakeholders;
  • Handling confidential information;
  • Any other duties that may be requested by the project manager.

 

Requirements: 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • A relevant post-Matric qualification;
  • At least 2 years’ relevant administrative experience;
  • Exposure to a project management environment;
  • Computer literacy with basic knowledge of ITS;
  • Basic knowledge of the university policies and procedures;
  • Good interpersonal skills and commitment to customer service

Included in the above remuneration is the company contribution to our compulsory pension fund, medical aid contributions, life cover and an optional annual bonus.
